Also, flagged as one of the largest aged care communities in Queensland, Masonic Care Queensland Sandgate has almost 450 residents across 3 residential aged care facilities and a retirement village.
The site caters for low care, high care, dementia care, respite care, palliative care and ageing-in-place, as well as retirement living.
The residential aged care facilities onsite include a hostel, special care unit and state-of-the-art Lucinda aged care facility, which opened in early 2011. Lucinda is one of the newest aged care facilities in Queensland, and has been purpose-built to provide residents with maximum privacy, security, comfort, lifestyle and choice, and to assist staff in providing the highest level of individualised resident care.
Lucinda is but the first step in a master plan to redevelop and redefine this historic Sandgate site. The next stage of exciting development for the site is to build 36 brand new retirement living apartments, with support services available on a fee-for-service basis, which commenced early 2012.
